If you want to reach me, the address is jim@americanmeathead.com. I read every email, but I am one person — give me a week before assuming I missed it.
What to send where
- Tip line. Something we got wrong, a smoker that broke in a way we should warn readers about, a brand that pulled a shady warranty move — send it. Real specifics get used.
- Press inquiries. Quote requests, interview asks, podcast invites. Same address. Include the deadline.
- Brands and manufacturers. We do not accept loaner units, sponsored editorial, or paid placement in reviews. If you have an actual product you think we should buy and test, send the spec sheet — we add it to the testing queue if it fits.
- Guest post pitches. We accept a limited number per quarter. We do not accept AI-generated drafts. Pitch the angle in one paragraph, not the full draft.
- Newsletter sponsorship. One slot per Wednesday issue. Email for the rate card.
- Readers. A recipe that didn’t work for you, a question about your smoker, “is this brisket done” — yes, send it. The honest answer is the best content for the next issue.
One ask: include the post URL you are referencing when you write in. It saves me about three minutes per email, which adds up.
