Notes

This cocktail is built on the 2:1:1 sour framework — spirit, citrus, sweetener — with carbonation added post-shake to preserve CO2 lift. The aromatic coherence between gin and lavender is not accidental: both ingredients share linalool as a primary volatile compound, which means they amplify rather than compete with each other in the glass. Citric acid from fresh lemon juice drops the finished drink's pH to approximately 3.2–3.8, sharpening flavor perception and suppressing ethanol heat at the palate. Shake vigorously with ice for 12–15 seconds to reach proper dilution and chill (exterior of shaker should approach 25°F / -4°C), then strain over fresh ice and add sparkling water gently to maintain carbonation. Over-steeped lavender syrup will introduce camphor bitterness — keep steep time under 15 minutes at a low simmer. Finished drink ABV is approximately 12–14% depending on gin proof and sparkling water volume.
